COVID-19 Announcement

Dear Valued Customer,

Last evening, Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf ordered all non-life-sustaining businesses to close their physical locations. According to the directive, insurance carriers and agents are non-life-sustaining. Therefore, Erie Insurance—headquartered in Erie, Pennsylvania, with offices throughout the state—is complying with that mandate, as are the Pennsylvania agencies that represent us.

While our physical locations in Pennsylvania are closed, Erie Insurance is most definitely open for business. Given the impacts of the coronavirus, ERIE had already begun to move our employees to remote work. In fact, thousands of employees and contractors throughout our 12 states and the District of Columbia are working remotely. They are taking your calls, answering your questions and servicing your claims.

Here are some ways you can reach out to us:

Contact your ERIE Agent to get policy documents, submit a claim or make a payment. You can also access your personal lines and life policies, view current and previous invoices, pay your bill or monitor a claim through your online account. If you don’t have an online account, you will be prompted to create one. (Unfortunately, at this time, you cannot view business policies through online account.)

ERIE’s Customer Care team is staffed to handle incoming calls and customer billing inquiries. Customer care representatives are available at (800) 458-0811, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., or Saturdays 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (ET). Life insurance Customer Care representatives are available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (ET).

Customers can continue to report claims by reaching out to your local ERIE Agent or by calling Erie Insurance 24/7 support at (800) 367-3743. Our claims teams are ready to meet the needs of our Customers and claimants while taking steps to mitigate exposure to the coronavirus in line with best practices provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to limit in-person contact.

If you’re experiencing financial hardship because of COVID-19 and have questions about your bill, please contact our Customer Care team to discuss payment options. You can reach them online and by phone at (800) 458-0811.

During these unprecedented times, we stand ready to provide the best service possible for you and all our Customers. Thank you for putting your trust in us.
